TIK’ALERT ®
TIK’ALERT® is a rapid and specific immunoassay that can detect circulating antibodies directed against Borrelia bacteria. This bacterium is present in ticks, a common insect living in European forests and woods, which can infect humans after being bitten. Borrelia attacks the central nervous system and can cause serious neurological disorders. Antibody screening is takes just 10 minutes with only one blood drop.
The test should be performed 2 to 4 weeks after the suspected tick bite or as soon as a circular reddish inflammation (erythema) appears on a part of the body likely to have been exposed to a tick bite.
